Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I love working with people who want to do their best in all aspects of their life but who have, for a variety of reasons, lost direction, clarity and focus. Often accompanying this is a loss of confidence and self esteem. You may be wondering whether coaching is for you. Take a look at these questions.
* Are you at a crossroads in your work or personal life?
* Would you like to make a change but don’t know how to do it?
* Do you have goals and ambitions that you never seem able to achieve?
* Do you feel that other people are more successful and wonder why you never get what you want?
* Are you experiencing a change in lifestyle and don’t know how to adapt to the new circumstances?
* Have you lost your work/life balance?
* Do you feel you have lost your way or your purpose in life?
* Do you complain a lot about certain aspects of your life?
* Are you unable to focus or make decisions?
* Do you feel disconnected from the world around you?
If you have answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, and you are committed to making a change, then you would benefit from some coaching sessions. The commitment part is the most important element in the coaching relationship.
You already know that making changes in your life requires courage and determination. It can be a difficult process for many people to deal with alone. Often family and friends are not able to provide the support you need at these times. It is very easy to take the safe option and live a life that feels comfortable, but there can be negative consequences associated with taking the ‘safe’ road, such as feeling unfulfilled, bored or even depressed.
I will help you to examine what is going on for you at this present time and help you to make new choices. You will be able to air your thoughts and feelings in a safe environment, without anyone judging you. Coaching isn’t counselling. The aim of coaching is to move forward from the start. Working together, you will find a way to be the person you want to be.
So what if you are happy with yourself, and like what you are doing, but you want to make some improvements or achieve a particular ambition? You may be looking for some professional development. In this case, I will help you explore what is achievable and set you on your chosen path. My background in organisational and staff development in local government and the higher education sector gives me the knowledge and experience to understand complex workplace issues.
Whatever the situation, you will decide the next steps and learn techniques to help you overcome the barriers that have prevented you from moving yourself forward. By the end of the first session you will have an achievable action plan to work through in an agreed time frame. Each subsequent session will move you closer to where you want to be.
My life has taken many turns over the years and I’ve often been pulled in directions that have led me to feel unhappy. I’ve always found that taking control of life’s events has made me feel at peace with myself and has filled me with confidence. By changing direction, sometimes at the most difficult times, I’ve been able to turn negativity into a positive outcome. These leaps have helped shape my career and have led me to coaching individuals and businesses, and teaching birdwatching to adults.
