Dr Wenqing Li is a qualified doctor of Chinese medicine. Her clinic experience is over 40 years in combining Chinese (herbs and acupuncture) and Western medicine (conventional medicine) treating a wide variety of conditions as Chinese Medicine is a holistic medicine and focus on the individuals .
After 6.5 years’ (1980-1987) full time study, she obtained her medical degree from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine where she is trained in both Chinese and Western medicine. In 1996, she became a consultant in the Beijing hospital where she practiced for over 25 years.
Dr Li has been working in the UK for over 20 year as a medical consultant in Chinese Medicine. She is an Honorary Research Fellow at St James Leeds University Teaching Hospital and UK, A member of head group of university based Complementary and Alternative Medicine Research (CAM). She is appointed as an acupuncturist by the CCG of Leeds and Wakefield NHS. She is a research executive of ATCM Council (‘The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK’, the largest organization of Chinese Medicine in the UK).
Additionally Dr Li completed the post graduate study in health research at medical school of Leeds University in 2013. She is doing the international co-operated research with the China Academy and Chile. She is invited and pointed to be an expert advisor to the China national organization of Cancer rehabilitation division of the Chinese gerontism and the gerontic cancer (CSGOR). Dr Li has published over 30 papers on Chinese Medicine and on the integration of Chinese and Western Medicine, published a book <Clinic Tumour Rehabilitation> (co-writer). As a presenter, she has participated in many conferences on medicine in China, Europe, Canada and the USA. She is undertaking some researches in Ophthalmology.

To clarify the differences in the administering of Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture and herbs) it needs to explain that all Chinese herbs and acupuncture in China are prescribed and performed by qualified medical doctors and the varying levels are doctor, registrar and consultant.
