I am a kind, friendly and down to earth CBT therapist and really value and enjoy building a helpful therapeutic relationship with the people I work with. I adhere to best practice clinical guidelines but also recognise that there is a need to be flexible and tailor my approach to the individual in this.
I have many years’ experience working with people with a variety of mental health difficulties in the NHS and privately, and work with difficulties such as depression, anxiety-based problems (Social Anxiety, General Anxiety, Health Anxiety, OCD, Phobias, Panic, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), low self-esteem, complicated grief and bereavement.
Within my therapy sessions I like to incorporate elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion focused therapy and mindfulness to get the best out of the time we spend together and help you reach your goals.
From Jan 2023 I’ll be offering EMDR as an additional stand-alone therapy or as something we can use in addition to more traditional CBT meothds.
